A mother comes upon her daughter playing dress-up…
This little child has tried her very best to look like mommy, but the makeup is awkwardly applied and the clothing just doesn’t fit. The mother smiles, her heart overflowing with love and joy… Mama doesn’t look at the mistakes: she sees the heart.
Her little girl wanted so much to be just like her.

So too with our heavenly Father. As His children, we try so very hard to be like Him. Somehow we just can’t get it right; we make a lot of mistakes and get so discouraged. But when our Daddy looks at us, He doesn’t pay attention to the mess we’ve made… He sees our hearts. We were trying to look like Him and His heart overflows with love and joy… He delights in us!

The LORD your God is with you, He is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing. Zephaniah 3:17
